My Fitness Journey

Hello and welcome to a little insight of my fitness journey from 2016 till now!
So I started working out in the gym in 2016 and it’s safe to say that was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only did working out regularly make me feel healthier, it also make me feel so much more confident and as though I was able to be comfortable in my own skin for the first time in a long while. It also gave me a boost in my mental state and helped give me a positive mental attitude when it came to college and other general things in life.

I’ve always been quite offended by the stereotype of girls doing cardiovascular exercises and males typically doing weightlifting exercises like, I can lift too! I’m not some weak little girl that you think I am. I constantly  (and sometimes still do) got compared to other ‘skinny’ people, which to be honest can be just as offensive as calling someone fat.
One of the reasons I started working out is because I am naturally a slim person and I was SICK to death of hearing people say I’m “too skinny” or “unhealthy”. I know this isn’t one of the best reasons to start working out and seemed as though I was doing it for the greater good of other people, but it worked and got me motivated enough so I guess that’s good.

I began working out properly in September of 2016 and saw drastic improvements immediately. In the picture below to the left I had a BMI of 16.0 which is classed as underweight. I still get shocked to see and hear things like that because I never thought I’d allow myself to get like that, although I didn’t know it was happening at the time.
This is the difference that ONE and a half months of working out 5 days a week made and actually eating properly for once. I haven’t always had a great relationship with food and never treated by body properly, which is probably a good reason why I put so much weight on so quickly, this is something I always feared but now I’m glad of. In the space of two and a half months I had gone from 7 stone 4lbs to 8 stone 3lbs. I’m not sure if you think this is a lot, but for me it definitely is.

After the first 6 months, progress started to slow down and become more gradual. This was because my body got used to my eating habits and gym workout and routines. I definitely get frustrated when I see hardly any progress throughout the course of a few months, but then I remember why I did this in the first place, to become healthy and happy. Just like anyone else, I definitely get my bad days where I feel like giving everything up but I know how far I’ve come in short spaces of time.

Just to put all of this into hindsight, this is where I’m at now. Weighing 8 stone 13lbs with a BMI of 19.6 I’m just 5lbs away from my goal which I made last year. The reason I haven’t yet hit this goal is because I was faced with some very difficult health issues which I am still recovering from mentally and physically, but that’s for another blog post. Needless to say, I’ll be adding to my goal once I hit my target because who doesn’t love more progress?

I look at that picture on the right and I feel happy. I feel like my body has good proportion, even though you can’t really see much of my arms or quadriceps. I never actually knew that I’d be writing this about my own body, this was always my dream.
It makes me feel so much more powerful than I used to feel, my friends used to call me weak and do things such as overpowering me in arm wrestles or purposely pushing me around because they knew they were stronger than me. I know now that I can definitely hold my own weight and I wouldn’t stand for that now.

I’m growing into a tall, strong woman who shall no longer be called weak or compared to others who are ‘like’ me. I am becoming my own person that I know I will learn to love.

Makeup Favourites Review 2017

Hello and welcome to my list of 2017 make-up favourites! Most, if not all of these products are 100% recommended by me due to the quality and price ranges.

1) Mascaras I cannot simply choose one or two of these because I love them al so much for different reasons. W7 absolute lashes (first left) are amazing because not only are they super cheap, they give such an amazing extension onto your lashes. It’s best used on top of another mascara to give a good length eyelash. Next to W7 is Volume Million Lashes Waterproof. I love this mascara and honestly this paired up with the W7 mascara is to die for! Also it is Waterproof, hence the name, and does the job perfectly! Next to this is another Volume Million Lashes - this one is ‘So Couture’. Also another amazing product from the same brand, I am definitely going to keep buying these mascaras, I think that So Couture gives a more fuller look than the waterproof mascara, but that’s just my personal opinion. The next mascara, and probably my …

What do you love about budget beauty? MBBB: Why do I love budget beauty? There are many reasons! Of course first and fore most - money! Being of Momma to two young babies, of course they always come first and this usually always leaves little for Mama! So finding products that are easily on the purse, but work wanders are top of my shopping list.  Another reason I love budget beauty is because it's fun! Sometimes you aren't sure what your going to get, and I have to be truthful, most of the time it's great! And you can have lots of fun trying new things.
SS: I honestly believe that budget beauty is so so underrated! I love that you can go out with £10 in your pocket and come home with a couple items that’l…

2018 Goals

2017 wasn’t one of my most productive years, I’ll admit. I regret letting my college exams and work get on top of me and making me worry constantly through the whole year, I regret not taking fitness as seriously as I probably should have and overall just feeling like the year was wasted. I’m setting myself these goals because I know 2018 I must improve to be a better person for not only myself but to show others I’m more than this. Here’s a list of things I’m going to try and achieve before 2019.

1) Study with consistency   Instead of waiting around for exams, I’m going to start revision early and slowly progress in my work. This means attending college on a more regular basis and using my spare time more wisely instead of playing video games and sleeping all day. If I study enough I know my grades will improve and it’ll all be worth it in the end, besides I’ll be getting a gap year soon so I may aswell focus while I have the chance.
2) Focus on fitness  I’ve been lazy with the gym…
